SUMMARY:Flu Shot Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Rockbridge Area Health Center is pleased to provide Saturday hours for a walk-in flu shot clinic. \nSaturday\, November 14\, 2020\n9:00 AM – 12:00 PM \n* NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY \n* FREE TO UNINSURED PATIENTS \n* IF INSURED\, INSURANCE WILL BE BILLED. \nFacial coverings and social distancing are mandatory. \nIf you feel sick\,\nplease stay home. \nNot a registered RAHC patient?\nPlease register ahead of time by filling out our Online Registration Form (opens in new tab). \nWhy be immunized? \nTo stop the spread of influenza\, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends immunization to protect yourself and the people around you from flu\, and to help reduce the strain on healthcare systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Influenza can be very serious for small children\, older adults and anyone in poor health. \nEvery year in the United States\, more than 200\,000 people are hospitalized from flu complications and about 36\,000 people die from flu. In the early stages of influenza\, many people don’t realize they are infected. They may not feel sick. Studies show that most healthy adults can infect others with the flu up to 1 day before they start having symptoms\, and they can infect others for up to 5 days after becoming sick. \nHow can you protect your yourself\, your family and co-workers? Be immunized against influenza this year and every year. Due to the influenza virus changing every year\, the vaccine changes too. To be protected\, you always need the current season’s vaccine.
