Denise Oinonen

Denise Oinonen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Director of Behavioral Health. She has over 23 years of experience in Central Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work at Cleveland State University and her Master of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati.

Her experience includes providing counseling for children, youth, and families on issues ranging from depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and anger management. She employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Therapy, and other treatment modalities to help people manage challenging behaviors and emotions. Denise also serves those who identify as LGBTQ+ and always strives to create a safe, open, and accepting environment that allows people to heal.

Denise appreciates the much-needed services that RAHC provides to anyone in the community, regardless of income or insurance status, so everyone can receive the care they deserve.

As a longtime supporter of animal welfare, she has adopted many beloved dogs and cats over the years and currently has two dogs and two cats.
