Denise Oinonen comes to RAHC as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 23 years of experience in Central Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work at Cleveland State University and her Master of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati. Her experience includes providing counseling for children, youth, and families on issues ranging from depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and anger management. She employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other treatment modalities to help people manage challenging behaviors and emotions. Denise strives to create a safe, open, and accepting environment to allow people to heal. Denise appreciates the much-needed services that RAHC provides to the community and which allows for all income levels to receive the care they deserve. She appreciates all of what nature can provide to one’s well-being. Denise has been a long term supporter of animal welfare and has adopted many beloved dogs and cats over the years. She currently has two dogs and two cats.
