Dr. Percita Ellis returns to Lexington to join RAHC as a Board Certified Pediatrician. Dr. Ellis previously worked in Lexington as a Pediatrician in private practices for nearly 15 years. Dr. Ellis has over 25 years of experience with children. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Ellis interned in Family Practice at the University Medical Center of Jacksonville. She was then an Adult Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Resident at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She then pursued Pediatric Residency training at Texas Tech HSC- El Paso. This included an additional year as a Pediatric Chief Resident, as well as additional time on staff as Associate Director of Residency Affairs and Research. She also served our country as an Army Reserves 2LT- Captain. Dr. Ellis is a member of the American Pediatric Association. She is also a national and Virginia Chapter member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In this group she participates in the sections for Behavioral and Mental Health, Community Pediatrics, and Minority Affairs. Locally, Dr. Ellis is on the Board for Balloons Over Rockbridge. Dr. Ellis has particular interests in Pediatric Mental Health and Advocacy. She also enjoys following children from birth through college and helping them with any obstacles they encounter on the way. She is very excited to be a part of our community again. During her free time, Dr. Ellis enjoys photography. She looks forward to taking pictures of Lexington in the snow every year.
