RAHC Capital Campaign

‘Building a Healthy Community’

Since opening its doors in 1992 with six volunteer providers and a small staff, RAHC now employs over 73 health care professionals that provide high quality, comprehensive, and affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health care services to over 7,000 residents of the Rockbridge County community, regardless of income, insurance status, or ability to pay.

To continue to meet the growing health care needs of the community, RAHC embarked upon a $6.6 million building project to expand the health center from a 9,000 sq.ft. facility, to one with two floors and over 23,000 sq. ft.

Please take the opportunity now to support our $1.2 million building expansion Capital Campaign so we can reach our goal in 2020!

RAHC broke ground on May 4, 2018 on a $6.6 million renovation that has more than doubled the size of the current facility.

The Rockbridge Area Health Center has continued to grow and enhance its services, which include primary medical care, women’s health and prenatal care, pediatrics, family dentistry, behavioral health and medication assistance. The expanded services, as well as the increase in the number of patients served, has greatly impacted the health center’s space utilization. Within RAHC’s original one-story building, 5,000 patients were being served in a 9,000 sq. ft. facility that was not designed to house the full range of services that RAHC now provides.

Responding to the needs of the community, the RAHC Board of Directors in 2017 approved a $6.6 million building expansion project that included a second floor and an additional 13,000 sq. ft.
