Dushyan Nithiyananthasothy

DDS

Dr. Dushyan Nithiyananthasothy, DDS is a family dentist, providing dental care to both English and Tamil-speaking patients of all ages. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry (NYUCD). He has also worked as an adjunct clinical instructor at NYUCD Department of Pediatric Dentistry, supervising dental students providing dental care and those working in school-based dental clinics and Head Start programs.

Having a special interest in providing pediatric dental care, Dr. Nithiyananthasothy advocates, especially to dental students, that it is a dental professional’s responsibility to strive to eliminate children’s fears about dentistry.

Dr. Nithiyananthasothy has seen firsthand the healthcare challenges that underserved populations face, both as a refugee from Sri Lanka living in India and as a student in New York City, and has remained active in community outreach, both locally and internationally. As a volunteer, he has provided dental services to families and children in New York and in India and to children at the Special Olympics Special Smiles events, where he provides preventive oral care and education to athletes with special needs.

In his free time, Dr. Nithiyananthasothy enjoys playing cricket, cooking Thai cuisine, watching documentaries, and is an avid fan of road trips.
